Origins of Gyrotonic®

Always like to know about the origins and we wanted to share with you these images of Juliu and a little bit of history. Before you create the methods of GYROTONIC ® and GYROKINESIS ®, Juliu Horvath had an impressive role of a dancing career at the State Opera of Romania, the Opera of New York, at Radio City Music Hall, and the Houston Ballet. When he broke his Achilles tendon, this led to her dancing career to a sudden high.

At the end of the 1970s, Juliu moved to St. Thomas and built a small hut to hand. He began to meditate more intensely, and began his own exploration of movement based on intuition, observations of nature, and personal experiences. It was during this time over several years, which has developed a system which he called ‘Yoga for Dancers’, which later became the method of GYROKINESIS ®.
